Gigantus 18.7mm Edison Pearl, Baroque

Size alone doesn't make a pearl exceptional, but at 18.5 mm, this Edison earns its name. The Gigantus is a modern marvel of freshwater aquaculture and single-graft selection, grown to a scale few producers ever attempt.

Size: 18.7 mm

Shape: Baroque

Color: Dark lavender with a silver rainbow overtone

Grade: AA, overall clean skin with some organic waves across the surface

• Immersion Time: 24 to 36 months post-graft, following 3-4 years of initial mussel growth.

• The Farming Reality: Edisons reach massive scale quickly because the mussel is huge and freshwater deposition rates are rapid. Second grafts are rarely attempted, since re-nucleating the visceral mass carries high mortality and loose-sac rejection risk, making this a one-shot harvest.

An exceptional, large-format pearl for a collector who wants presence as much as provenance.
