Experience Tahitian pearls at their source

Join Black Market Pearls LLC for an intimate, trade-only residency combining direct pearl-farm sourcing, practical technical instruction, and island hospitality. Designed for a small cohort of 8–10 registered jewelers, this expedition brings your sourcing decisions closer to the harvest.

Fly to Tahiti with Air Tahiti Nui, named “Best Airline in the South Pacific” in Global Traveler’s 2025 GT Tested Reader Survey Awards, its eighth consecutive year receiving this distinction. International travel is proposed from Los Angeles on April 24, returning to Los Angeles May 1. Seats, fares, and flight schedules remain subject to airline confirmation.

Build your knowledge. Curate your pearls.

At the farm in Taha’a, explore cultured Tahitian pearls and refine your eye for luster, surface quality, shape, size, and overtones. Dedicated sourcing sessions provide time to select individual pearls, match earring pairs, and curate necklace and bracelet layouts.

The proposed professional program combines pearl grading instruction, live grafting and harvest demonstrations, hands-on micro-drilling, and Reverse Pricing Engineering discussions connecting acquisition costs with your pricing strategy.

Your week at a glance

April 24–26: Depart Los Angeles, arrive in Tahiti, and enjoy an island introduction before continuing via Raiatea to Taha’a.

April 27–28: Focus on farm visits, grading, technical workshops, and dedicated sourcing sessions.

April 29–30: Enjoy a proposed lagoon and motu excursion, return to Tahiti, and spend a final day on the island while export arrangements are coordinated.

May 1: Planned arrival in Los Angeles.

The downloadable prospectus contains the detailed daily program, proposed flight times, inclusions, and project-review terms.

Your stay & estimated investment

The proposed package includes three nights at the oceanfront Pearl House estate in Taha’a, two nights at Le Tahiti by Pearl Resorts, and shared arrival and departure hospitality suites. Inter-island flights, scheduled group transfers, the Taha’a meal program, professional instruction, and the proposed lagoon excursion are also planned.

The combined estimated cost is US$11,708 per couple, or US$5,854 per person, based on double occupancy. This comprises a $9,400 residency and domestic package, including a $715 insurance budget allocation, plus $2,308 estimated international airfare.

Insurance arrangements remain proposed, not bound coverage. Personal cancellation/CFAR insurance is separately arranged and paid by participants. Pearl purchases, Tahiti lunches and dinners, optional activities, and personal expenses are additional.

Participation requires a separate minimum pearl purchase commitment of US$6,500 per couple.

Proposed payment schedule

December 31, 2026: $4,364 per couple, comprising $3,964 professional tuition and a $400 proposed airline deposit.

January 15, 2027: $3,672 per couple, including the remaining $1,908 estimated international airfare.

March 1, 2027: $3,672 per couple for the remaining residency balance.

Any tuition deduction and its timing are subject to your own CPA’s review. No tax outcome is guaranteed.
